The Blue Dahlia (1946)

Director: George Marshall
Starring: Alan Ladd, Veronica Lake, William Bendix
Synopsis:
A Naval officer returned from the South Pacific finds himself the prime suspect in the murder of his unfaithful wife.
Impressions:
This is a rather good noir flick. The twists and turns get a bit on the convoluted side, but part of that is due to the fact that they had to rewrite the ending. It can feel a bit contrived how all the characters manage to intersect, but it's not enough to damage the suspension of disbelief too much. Alan Ladd is solid in the lead role and William Bendix is particularly colorful as Buzz. It's definitely worth watching, so give it a shot.
