Synopsis:
Three troublemaking misfit soldiers are broken up when one of them is promoted to sergeant.
Impressions:
You can tell they were trying to recapture the spirit of Gunga Din with this, but I don't think they hit the mark. It has its moments and if you're a big Stewart Granger fan, that might be enough. I found the humor rather hit and miss and while I've definitely seen similar things happen when a person gets those three stripes, the conflict in the group wasn't particularly fun to watch. I did like Walter Pidgeon and David Niven as Colonel Brunswick and Captain Pindenny. It's a bit of a mixed bag, but you might like it.
