Impressions:
I've never been a big fan of disaster movies to start with and garbage from Emmerich and Devlin like The Day After Tomorrow and 2012 really left me with no interest whatsoever in this film. However, when I actually gave this movie a chance, it surprised me. Free of the all Emmerich and Devlin's asinine politicking, this is a pretty entertaining film. The Rock is solid in the lead (no pun intended) and I was also fairly impressed by Alexandra Daddario, who plays his daughter. The movie definitely delivers on the visuals for monumental destruction and tense scenes of peril. If you actually do like disaster movies, this is a definite must-see and even if you're not so keen on the subgenre like me, you may still find it worthwhile.
