Special Agent (1935)

Director: William Keighley
Starring: Bette Davis, George Brent, Ricardo Cortez
Synopsis:
A Treasury agent posing as a reporter works to bring down a mobster with the help of his bookkeeper.
Impressions:
While this movie has some heavy-hitters in the cast like Bette Davis and Ricardo Cortez, it's a fairly run-of-the-mill story that failed to impress. If it was made a few years sooner, when Al Capone being busted for tax evasion was more recent news, it might have had a little more novelty value. If you're a fan of the principal cast or if you just love 30s gangster flicks, give it a watch. Otherwise, you won't be missing much if you skip it.
