Spies Like Us (1985)

Director: John Landis
Starring: Chevy Chase, Dan Akroyd, Steve Forrest
Synopsis:
A State Department slacker and a DIA tech whiz are promoted to field agents, unknowingly serving as decoys for the real agents.
Impressions:
There's honestly not much I have to say about this. It's an 80s-era Cold War comedy featuring SNL alums. That should pretty well tell you what you're getting into. Chevy Chase is basically doing his Fletch schtick and Dan Akroyd is mostly playing the straight man. I didn't particularly find much humor outside of the training sequence. It does have a certain time capsule quality that might grab your interest and you might be amused by all the little cameos that get crammed in. I can't really recommend it with any enthusiasm, but if any of the above has piqued your interest, you may enjoy it.
