If you want a cheesy 80s action film, look no further. From Chuck Norris headlining to the jaunty score by Alan Silvestri and the over-the-top gunplay and explosions, it's a pretty fun watch. You won't see a movie like this made anymore, so it's like a little time capsule. Modern viewers may decry the scenario, but it was based on an actual hijacking (however loosely) that was ripped from the headlines to make the movie. I feel bad for Lee Marvin being as old as he was and in fairly poor health, but he does pretty well for someone in his condition. There are a lot of notable actors (both major award-winners and familiar character actors) in the cast. The drama is pretty good if a bit ham-fisted (apologies to Menahem Golan for the non-kosher expression) and the action is entertaining. It's an interesting look at the jihad's portrayal during the time period and unless you're just hyper-PC, it's worth checking out.
